Could you do me a GREAT BIG favor? 

My little ones are doing a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. They are raising money through a jump-a-thon at school for children who need heart surgery.

I Love ... My Little Ones!

My Little Ones!

They are funny and bright and creative.

They came home from school last week all excited about a jump rope event - a fundraiser for the American Heart Association

JUMPROPE FOR HEART

raising funds to help other kids with heart disease.

Instead of just sending an email to friends and family I thought of Virginia Spiegel’s wildly successful efforts for the American Cancer Society and had an idea. I’m constantly flooded with the art the kids produce. If I kept it all we’d be buried to our necks in it. (I take a picture of them holding it then quietly put it in the recycling while they are at school. If they miss it we can pull it out of the bag.)

So, dear friends. My kidlets have are willing to work for a cause. If you donate $5 they will draw a valentine picture just for you. 

(You’ll need to send me a quick note at lyric (at) pobox.com with your address so we can mail it off.)

I asked them to draw something with a heart on it. 

Kidlet #4 drew several.

That’s her operating a robot.

Kidlet #5 works a little more intently and drew this.

That’s him going over a jump on a motorcycle

Once again the lovely and talented Virginia Spiegel is raising funds for cancer research.

She is hoping to raise $7,000.00 to add to the $215,000.000 she has already raised for this cause.

You read that right. This woman knows how to make a big difference. She gathers people

we to her who also care deeply about fighting cancer and organizes them so that wonderful things happen. Here is how the fundraiser will work - and I'll let you know how you can help down below.

How Does Foto/Fiber 2012 Work? 90 Photos AND 90 BONUS Fiber Surprises Beauty and Mystery Unite to Fight Cancer 1. Ninety beautiful and inspiring photos by Virginia A. Spiegel Hope is the winged bird(with apologies to Emily Dickinson) All photos are 7x5" and mounted to archival acid-free 1/8" foam board. Each is matted with an archival mat to 10x8." Each photo is titled/signed by me and packaged in a clear envelope. Only three of each photo will be available. I do not plan to offer my photos for sale online so this is a one-off opportunity. All photos will be available for preview no later than February 14, but I will be featuring photos on my blog and here periodically. 2. Ninety BONUS Fiber Surprises from an amazing team of fiber artistsAll BONUS Fiber Surprises will be mailed directly to you by their creators in a Size 0 (6x9") bubble envelope mailer. This is the size in which a CD fits nicely. Each artist will be donating from one to three BONUS Fiber Surprises. I asked the donors to make the BONUSES wonderfully wonderful, creative, and unique.
