Oh, I'm so glad that you had an inspiration post on Oakwood Cemetary. I especially appreciate the picture of the weathered angel that you posted.I look at it and see time. So cool.I enjoy visiting cemeteries for inspiration. There's magnificent art, beautifully landscaped grounds, loads of history, and all the walking I could want to do!I wrote about my trips to the Spring Grove cemetery in Cincinnati and the wonderful Lake View cemetery in Cleveland (with the Tiffany chapel windows!) on my blog a few months ago:http://www.overthemoonarts.com/?p=139Thank you so much - All the best - Chris
I love visiting old cemeteries for inspiration...but I always leave feeling just a little sad.
Thanks for that angel. Amazing. It looks like she has dreadlocks :)
I love cemeteries. I hadn't thought of using them for inspiration. Great idea. The angel statue is so beautiful! Such lovely curves in the hair and expression in the face. However ever since a certain episode of Doctor Who I have a hard time with Angel statues. heehee
I suppose it's my simple but firm belief in the next life and eternal families that makes cemeteries a happy place for me. I picture the people that were buried there with their loved ones. There is sadness for those of us left behind for the time being.Lisa - um. YES. I saw that one too. creeped me out.
