Oh, I'm so glad that you had an inspiration post on Oakwood Cemetary. I especially appreciate the picture of the weathered angel that you posted.

I look at it and see time. So cool.

I enjoy visiting cemeteries for inspiration. There's magnificent art, beautifully landscaped grounds, loads of history, and all the walking I could want to do!

I wrote about my trips to the Spring Grove cemetery in Cincinnati and the wonderful Lake View cemetery in Cleveland (with the Tiffany chapel windows!) on my blog a few months ago:

Thank you so much -

All the best - Chris

I love visiting old cemeteries for inspiration...but I always leave feeling just a little sad.

Thanks for that angel. Amazing. It looks like she has dreadlocks :)

I love cemeteries. I hadn't thought of using them for inspiration. Great idea. The angel statue is so beautiful! Such lovely curves in the hair and expression in the face. However ever since a certain episode of Doctor Who I have a hard time with Angel statues. heehee

I suppose it's my simple but firm belief in the next life and eternal families that makes cemeteries a happy place for me. I picture the people that were buried there with their loved ones.

There is sadness for those of us left behind for the time being.

Lisa - um. YES. I saw that one too. creeped me out.
