Congrats Sharon.

Lyric, I'm fascinated by the design question of how to create an art quilt with a strong horizon or viewpoint line. I find that all my little art quilts and sketches look like they are 'floating' in space.

The only way I have of creating a horizon line is the childhood drawing of two lines curving downward for two hills and a valley. I would love a tutorial or some exercises on how to play around with different ways of anchoring my quilt design.

Thanks so much for your suggestion!

Sounds like a basic tutorial on perspective might be in order.

Look here at the Sketchbook Challenge site to begin with - scroll down and read the "depth and space" tutorials.
I'll try to expand on these for you - but can't promise a time. This month will be dedicated to my new DVD.... fun stuff.
Take care,
-Lyric
